Melissa Ruth Self, passed away, at 11:01 a.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2022 in the Grant Medical Center, Columbus, surrounded by her family. Born March 14, 1968 in Bluefield, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the Margaret Holt, who survives in Point Pleasant, WV.

She loved all kinds of art and could draw very well. She loved to write poems and wanted to become an English teacher. She loved all animals but especially cats and elephants. Her favorite cat was Garfield, and her favorite dog was Snoopy. Her hobbies were knitting, latch hook kits, and watching movies, especially horror movies

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Tara Lynn Self, of Point Pleasant, son, Aaron Frankenfield, of Fayetteville, WV. A sister, Linda (Rickey) Sue York, of Sparta, Tennessee, brothers, Timothy Coleman, of Fairfield, Oh., and John Westmoreland, of Lexington, Kentucky, aunt and uncle, Tom and Sharon Nunnery, of Point Pleasant, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She loved her family. She loved being around her daughter and was very proud of both her son and daughter

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and close friend, David Self, grandparents, Ray and Ruth Nunnery.

She will be missed greatly by all, and a memorial service will be held at a future date.
