James “Jim” Nelson Morris, 67, of Rutland, went to be with the Lord, at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Born January 31, 1955, in Pomeroy he was the son of the late Meda Eloise Smith Watkins and Jesse Morris. He was a Pastor at the House of Prayer Church in Antiquity. He served his country in United States Marine Corps. He was a loving husband and father. He loved his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years Rhonda Cook Morris, sons, Jeremy (Bobbi Jo) Morris, Kevin (Cindi) Bush, daughters, Sheena (Justin) Smith, and Rachel (Tony) Lee, grandchildren, Jesse James Morris, Misti Lee, Jason (Kaitlyn) Reynolds, Gracie Morris, Bentley Smith, Marley Smith, Jacob Ratcliff, Trittany Bush, Emily Bush, and Zachary Bush, great-grandchildren, Skydon Kauff, Skylee Kauff, and Leland Tanner. Sister, Sharon (Dave) Hudnell, brothers, Jason (Susan) Morris, Jesse (Noel) Morris, numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Lester Bush, his mother-in-law, Sylvia Cook, father-in-law, Bernard Cook, brothers-in-law, Calvin Dowell, and Roy Dowell.

Per his request there will be no services a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy is entrusted with the arrangements.
