Debra L. Vance, 69, of Bidwell, passed away, at 10:07 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at her residence. Born October 24, 1951 in Ypsilanti, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Venneman Miller and Herbert L. Hoffman, who survives in Ross Common, Michigan. She retired from the Village of Rio Grande as the Clerk of Courts a position she held for many years. She was a member of the Oasis Christian Tabernacle Church.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, John B. Vance, whom she married on June 7, 1969 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, a daughter, Dawn E. (Matthew M. Baird) Vance, of Bidwell, and a son, J.R. (Bethany) Vance, of Bidwell. Two grandsons, Jesse Anderson Ford, and Josiah Reign Vance, sisters, Thelma Burns, of Ross Common, Michigan, Phyllis (Bobby) Buchte, Howell, Michigan, and Donna Irby, of Fowlerville, Michigan, a brother, Herbert (Susie) Hoffman, Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Burns.
Funeral services will be held in the Oasis Christian Tabernacle Church, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Her son Pastor J.R. Vance will officiate and interment will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call an hour prior to the funeral service at the Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, locally owned and operated in Gallipolis, Ohio.
