Melanie Dawn Plants, 43, of Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 28, 2020 in the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Born September 21, 1977, in Point Pleasant, WV., she was the daughter of the late Melvin Gillispie and Rose Litchfield Jeffers, who survives in Southside, WV. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oasis Christian Tabernacle, Gallipolis, where she taught Sunday School and operated the sound system.

She is survived by her mother, Rose Litchfield (Perry) Jeffers, of Southside, her husband, Scott E. Plants, whom she married on June 10, 1995 in Southside, a son, Zachery Plants, sisters, Crystal (Lew) King, of Evans, WV., and Bethany (J.R.) Vance, of Bidwell, a brother, Scotty (Antonia) Gillispie, of Southside. Nieces and nephews, Brian Gillispie, Emily King, Brycen Gillispie, Ian King, and Josiah Vance.

In addition to his father, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Wilma Litchfield, paternal grandparents, David and Elizabeth Gillispie, two sisters, Shirley Ross, and Janet Gillispie, and a nephew, Matthew Newman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oasis Christian Tabernacle, 3773 Georges Creek Rd., Gallipolis, Ohio. Pastor J.R. Vance will officiate and interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery, Southside, WV. Friends may call from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the Church. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis, is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
