Delores Mae Cleland, 96, of Racine, was called to be with the Lord at 10:35 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at her residence. Born April 4, 1922, in Carpenter, Ohio she was the first born child of the late Lloyd and Alma Markins Woodgerd. Delores was a homemaker and a member of the Racine First Baptist Church. She was known for her love of all family members, friendliness to many, many people and her sewing of hundreds and hundreds of beautiful quilts, which she gave to relatives and friends located throughout the United States.

She is survived by her son, Stephen (Angie) Cleland, Richmond, In., and a daughter, Maralyn (Larry) Capretta, of Racine, eight grandchildren, Kim (Ruben) Hill, Todd (Angie) Taylor, Leslie Taylor, Ivaunna (Kenny) Neigler, Lori (Jimmy) Black, J.F. Young, Aaron (Joy) Young, and Vincent (Stephanie) Cleland. Seventeen great-grandchildren, nineteen great-great grandchildren, a brother, Arthur (Betty) Woodgerd, of Marietta, Oh., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cleland whom she married on August 26, 1938, in Cattlettsburg, Kentucky and preceded her on July 24, 2005, two daughters, Carolyn Powell, of Racine, and Evelyn Brady, of Gallipolis, grandsons, Von Taylor, of Gallipolis, and Ryan Cleland, of Houston, Texas, and siblings, Dale, Robert, Carroll, Frances, and Betty.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine. Her grandson Pastor Aaron Young and Pastor Duke Holbert will officiate. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the funeral services at funeral home on Wednesday.
