Ernest E. Walker, 92, of Gallipolis, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the Overbrook Center, Middleport. Born February 3, 1926, in Botetourt County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Moses and Magnolia Freeman Walker. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a lifetime member of American Legion Post# 27, and a member of the Paint Creek Baptist Church. He retired from Holzer Medical Center where he was a boiler operator.
He is survived by his special friend of who he made his home, Judy Payne, a very special friend, Raymond Cousins, a daughter, and a grandson. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Claude and Fred Walker, and two sisters, Myrtle Gray, and Carrie Williams.
Funeral services will be held in the Paint Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018. Rev. Christian Scott will officiate and interment will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Gallia County Funeral Detail Team. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Sunday, at the Cremeens-King Funeral Home or one hour prior to the service at the Church on Monday.
