Mary Aldean Taylor, 75, of Lancaster, Ohio, formerly of Rio Grande, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at her residence.
Mary was born on November 13, 1947 in Crown City, Ohio, daughter of the late Harold and Virginia (Fillinger) Brumfield. Mary married Jerry Lee Taylor on March 14, 1970; and he preceded her in death. Mary enjoyed singing, playing music, and spending time with her family. She retired from Revco/CVS Pharmacy after working over 30 years. Mary enjoyed interacting with her customers, and it brought her joy helping people time and time again. After she retired, Mary enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and attending church at Fellowship of Faith in Rio Grande, Ohio.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Tanya (Chris) Gill and grandchildren, Courtney Gill and Carson Gill. Mary was one of eight children; she is survived by two sisters, Barbara Brumfield of Gallipolis and Arlene Bickers of Winfield, Alabama; two brothers, Roscoe (Kathy) Brumfield of Northup and Faron Brumfield of Crown City; one sister-in-law, Nancy Brumfield; several nieces and nephews; her lifelong like a daughter, Trisha Finley of Gallipolis; and a special extra granddaughter, Caralina Crowell of Lancaster.
In addition to Jerry, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Lance Taylor; a sister, Brenda Brumfield; two brothers, Cline and Charles Brumfield; a niece, Amber Brumfield Shadle; a brother-in-law Tim Bickers; and special friends, Julie and Joe Owen.
The funeral service for Mary will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Sisson officiating. Her burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Craig Wright, Joe Owen, Faron Brumfield, Bryan Brumfield, Roscoe Brumfield, and Coby Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary’s memory to FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care and mailed to FAIRHOPE Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130
