Text

On Friday, January 20, 2023, Gloria Curry, loving mother and wife, passed away at the age of 83.

Gloria was born on September 12, 1939 in Foster, Ohio to Ruby and Victor Wallace. Gloria worked for many years as a bookkeeper.

Gloria was married to the love of her life, Bill, for 52 years until he passed in 2015. Together, they had one daughter, April. Gloria helped raise Bill’s two oldest children (from a previous marriage), Billy and Dawn; and the two youngest, Jack and Penny, visited in the summer and holidays.

Gloria loved nothing more than baking. It was her calling, her passion, her love. She was always giving cookies, cakes, and candies to people when they were sick or sad or just to say “I love you.” Getting a box of Gloria’s treats was always something special. She was generous even though she did not have much. Her faith was extremely important to her, and she was a deeply involved member of Grace Baptist Church. Gloria always thought of others before herself; and as her last gift, she made a donation of her organs. Her family is at peace because of her faith and the gift of her donation.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Victor; her mother, Ruby; her step mother, Bloneda; sister, Sharon; daughter, Penny Kocoronis; and son-in-law, Nick Kocoronis. She is survived by her sisters, Jeanne Campbell (Doug) and Linda Reyes (Ray); children, Bill Curry Jr., Jack Curry (Lisa), Dawn Curry, and April Maestri (Marshall); sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; her loving family in Charleston, WV; and many very special friends.

Visiting hours will be from 9:00 am-11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Grace Baptist Church, 7051 Ohio River Road, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The funeral will follow at 11:30 am in the church. A brief graveside memorial will be held following the funeral at Cunningham Memorial Park, 815 Cunningham Lane, St. Albans, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Grace Baptist Church, https://www.gracebaptistwv.org/giving/ or Core Center for Organ Recovery & Education https://core.org.
