Vinson Smith "Smitty" Jarrell Jr., 81, of New Haven, WV, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Stonerise of Parkersburg, following an extended illness.
He was born June 25, 1941, in Hamlin, WV, a son of the late Vinson Sr. and Kathryn (Price) Jarrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Diana (Reynolds) Jarrell and his special friend, Eleanor Davis.
Vinson retired from AEP Mountaineer Plant as an Electrician in 2003. He was a member of the First Church of God in New Haven and the Heaven Saints Motorcycle Ministry. Vinson enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, photography and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his children, Daniel Jarrell (Amy Pinkerton) of Belpre, OH, Lisa Hysell and her husband, Jason of New Haven; brother, Samuel Jarrell and his wife, Pat of OH; sister, Sue Stolzenbach and her husband, John of Washington State; grandchildren, Taylor Hysell, Derek Hysell, and Sean Jarrell.
Service will be 1 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastors Bruce and Brenda Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Flatrock, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of service on Friday, at the funeral home.
