Sharon Walker Louks, 77, of Long Bottom, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 21, 2022. She was born on May 4, 1945, to the late P.F.C. Lewis F. Walker and Garnet Eloise Bolin Walker Mankin. Sharon was a 1963 graduate of Pomeroy High School and attended Forest Run United Methodist Church in Racine, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with her family - her grandchildren and great-grandson were her pride and joy. She was always in attendance at their activities and spent countless hours creating video memories of their accomplishments. She took pride in her home, especially her yard decorations, which she changed seasonally for others to enjoy.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James David Louks. Daughters: Lori Jean (David) Duffy of Chester, Ohio, and Amy Dyann (John) Rice of Vincent, Ohio. Grandchildren: Jonathan David Louks of Chester, Ohio; Ashleigh Noelle Duffy- (Brayden) Pratt of Lancaster, Ohio; Meghan Daneen Rice (Jordan Boggs) of New Hill, North Carolina and Joshua Logan Rice of Vincent, Ohio. Great-grandson, Landon David Pratt of Lancaster, Ohio. Brothers: Jeff (Bonnie) Mankin of New Haven, West Virginia and Kenny Mankin of Cincinnati, Ohio. Sharon is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, P.F.C. Lewis F. Walker and Garnet Eloise Bolin Walker Mankin, her brother, Butch Walker, her sister, Debra Michelle (Shelly) Mankin Wood, and a very special cocker spaniel, Jackson “Jack” Lee.
Arrangements have been made through Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio. There will be graveside services held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at the Letart Falls Cemetery with Rev. Richard Thomas officiating.
Sharon had a special place in her heart for dogs needing rescued. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meigs County Canine Rescue and Adoption Center in Pomeroy, Ohio.
