Dottie Lou Jones, 81, of Pomeroy, Ohio, was welcome into the arms of the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Holzer Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones.
Dottie was born October 26, 1940 to the late Kenneth and Doris Wilt. Her husband Larry Jones proceeds her in death. In death she is also proceeded by her infant son Jimmy Pierce, grandson Jordan Pierce, granddaughter Amber Pierce, great granddaughter Maggie Fitch, brother Larry Wilt, and sisters Kathy Burke and Linda Hubbard. Dottie is survived by her four sons Mark (Rosemary), Mike, Marty (Belva), and Matthew (Miranda) Pierce and two daughters Gail (Jim) Fitch and Cheryl Varian. She also is survived by two brothers Rick (Jan) and Kenny (Kim) Wilt, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In life, Dottie enjoyed spending time with her family, her happy infectious spirit touching everyone she was around. She was know as the family prankster, bringing fun everywhere she went, to the point that her nieces referred to her as “Crazy Aunt Dottie”. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved friend, Linda Gheen, whom she loved playing cards and going on lunch dates with. Dottie was a retiree from Whaley's Grocery, and she attended Syracuse Mission Church.
Dottie's family would like to extend their appreciation to the healthcare staff on the 4 West unit at Holzer Medical Center, for the outstanding care Dottie and the family received during her stay there.
Dottie's arrangements will be held at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 11:00am top 1:00pm. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm with burial services to follow at Letart Falls Cemetery. Pastor Jordan Bradford will be officiating services.
