Roberta “Bobbie” L. Gillespie, 92, of Gallipolis, passed away, at 11:33 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her residence. Born June 3, 1930 in French Creek, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Robert and Natalie Barb Bender. She was a retired insurance agent for the Wiseman Insurance Agency.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Fisher, of Clarksburg, WV, sons, Jerry (Shirley) Cunningham, of Winchester, Kentucky, Michael Allen Cunningham, and Robert “Bob” (Anita) Cunningham, both of Gallipolis. Grandchildren, David Fisher, Michael Cunningham Jr., and Matthew Cunningham, and a great-granddaughter, Michaela Cunningham also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Henderson Gillespie, on January 25, 2001, and a son James “Jim” Cunningham.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis. Rev. Arland King will officiate and interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Rio Grande. Friends may call on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
