Virginia Mae Patterson, 81, of Hartford died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Holzer Hospital Critical Care Unit in Gallipolis, OH.
Born July 25, 1941, daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Kearns) Gibbs. She married Hubert Patterson on a Friday the 13th in February, 1959 and they were together 49 years until his death in March of 2008.
She was a retired cook with Mason County schools. She enjoyed watching birds and her many flowers grow. She was also quick to offer something to eat or drink to anyone that stopped by to visit.
Survived by: Daughters Martha Patterson and Gale Patterson both of Hartford. Granddaughter: Jessica Patterson of Hartford. Brother: Butch (Connie) Gibbs. Sisters-in-law: Reba Gibbs, Deloris Gibbs, and Norma Roush. Many nieces and nephews some of which she thought of like her own.
Preceded by: Parents, husband, sisters: Florence Warth, Donna Neece, and Brenda Warth. Brothers: Charles, Cecil, John, Tom, Garry, Garland, and Hubert Gibbs.
The family would like to give special thanks to Mason County EMS as well as Mason and New Haven Fire Departments for all their assistance with Mom.
Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor David Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until time of service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
