WILLIAM SCOTT TRIPLETT JR.
William Scott Triplett Jr., 91, of Ravenswood, West Virginia, entered heaven on June 11, 2023 at Mountainview Care Center in Ripley, West Virginia. He joins his first wife, Lela Claris (Ferrebee) Triplett in the gates of heaven.
William was born to William Scott Triplett Sr. and Ada Bell (Boggs) Triplett Schoolcraft on September 18, 1931 in Clay County.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Triplett, daughters Shireene Matheny of Ripley, Dian O'Rourke of Front Royal, Virginia, Melissa (Mark) Staats of Ravenswood, daughter-in-law Debbie Triplett of Independence , Missouri, step-son Greg (Elizabeth) Miller of Ravenswood, brothers Jake, Russ and Charles and sister Lois Phillips. He left behind 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and 8 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife of 52 years Claris, son William Scott Triplett III, and brothers, Buster Boggs, Thomas, Phillip and Francis Triplett and sister, Maysel Murphy.
William was a United States Army Korean War veteran and received the Quilt of Valor in 2022. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood for 54 years.
Visitation will be at Second Baptist Church at 305 Elwood Street in Ravenswood on Saturday, June 17 at 10 am with service to follow at 11 am with Dr. Pastor S. R. Parsons, Jr. officiating. Internment, with military rites, will be at Triplett Cemetery in Clay, West Virginia at 2pm.
