Mary K. Bays, 72, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away in the arms of her savior on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 9:25 AM. She married the love of her life, Homer L. Bays, at the age of 16 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Together they traveled to all 50 states. Branson, Pigeon Forge, Mackinac Island were just a few of their favorite destinations as well as cruising Alaska and many other adventures throughout the Western US.
Mary worked hard as a medical transcriptionist for 41 years. She wanted to ensure her daughters were provided for and they could receive a college education. Anyone who knew her, knew she loved the Lord. She often gave a testimony about being alive because God saved her from a very high fall as a child feeling like she had been gently carried to the ground without incurring any major injuries. She often remarked, “The Lord has been good to me; He is good ALL the time!”
Mary was a proud mother to her family with tremendous love in her heart for her husband and two daughters – Lisa and Tammy. Mary was so proud of their great love for the Lord and how they carried this love over to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Even though she was small in stature, she had a warrior spirit, strength, and will to love and care for others until the end. She treasured the small things in life such as the colors of flowers, trees, birds and the smell in the air. Mary loved her family, church, and friends dearly.
We won’t say goodbye to our loved one; but will say, see you later. She has left a lifetime of love and will be forever in our hearts.
The funeral service for Mary will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Beaver and Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the church.
