James L. “Jimmy” Hamilton, 48, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Grant Medical Center. Jimmy was born on May 6, 1975 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of Katrina A. Drummond Northup and Leland P. Hamilton.
Jimmy had worked at Norris-Northup and Cliffside Golf Course. He was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School Class of 1994 and had attended Marshall University. He enjoyed reading, golfing, and sporting events, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes. Jimmy is survived by two daughters, Brooke Ann Hamilton and Ava Grace Hamilton both of Gallipolis; his mother and stepfather, Katrina A. and Mike Northup of Gallipolis; his father, Leland P. Hamilton of Gallipolis; a sister, Jennifer Northup and a brother, Jason Northup both of Gallipolis; niece and nephews, Lyla, Levi, Jaxon, and Jameson; and an aunt, Sharon (Walt) Brown of Gallipolis.
Jimmy enjoyed being around family and friends, especially Michael Eachus and Jake Hall. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles D. and Mary Louise Drummond and Silas and Mildred Hamilton.
A Celebration of Jimmy's Life will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Cliffside Golf Course Clubhouse.
