Phyllis Joy Stinson, 81, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 after a battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Joy was born on April 4, 1942 in Logan County, West Virginia to James Turner Dingess and Rebecca Birdie (Workman) Dingess, who preceded her in death.
Joy married Fred Stinson in 1963. In addition to her husband, Joy is survived by daughters, Robin L. (Mike) Pasquale and Tammy (Toby) Hudson; grandchildren, Mikayla and Alex Pasquale, Ashley (Adam) Miller, and Eli Hudson; great grandchild, Leland Miller; and sisters, Ida Stinson and Betty (Joe) Henninger.
Joy retired from Gallia County Local Schools where she was a cook at Bidwell Elementary School. She was an avid gardener, and she liked to crochet and quilt.
The funeral service for Joy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to coat drives for any organization.
