Judy Ann Dillon, 79, of Gallipolis, OH passed away in Harrisburg, PA on Thursday, December 28, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Judy was born to Audrey (Higgins) Holley and Orville “Pete” Holley in Nitro, WV on February 1, 1944. She was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School and the former Gallipolis Business College. She married the love of her life, Jerry Dillon, on October 10, 1970. Together they joined Grace Methodist Church, where they remained lifetime members. Judy had a passion for organization and typing, leading her to many fulfilling jobs but none more important to her than secretary at Gallia Academy High School, a position she retired from after 20+ years of loyal service.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Jerry Dillon; her mother, Audrey (Higgins) Holley; her father, Orville “Pete” Holley; her brothers, Charles “CK” Holley and James “Jeep” Holley; her sister-in-law, Rosemarie “Judy” Holley; and her grandson, Michael Charles Fife.
Judy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patti Fife; three granddaughters, Karli, Misha, and Abby Fife, husband Jesse Marques; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Oaklynn, and Dakota Fife, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and many extended family members in Barboursville, WV, Columbus, OH, and beyond.
Judy’s biggest passion in life was her relationships. She had strong bonds with her family, but also with her longtime friends that she considered her family. She enjoyed her long standing Thursday night girls’ dinners, the monthly meeting of the GAHS retirees club, and the countless hours spent on the phone sharing stories with her “sisters.”
Services will be held at Grace Methodist Church on Saturday, January 6, 2023 with Pastor Ray Kane officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pine Street Cemetery. A Celebration of Life luncheon will conclude the day.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made in Judy’s name to Grace Methodist Church, 600 Second Avenue, Gallipolis, OH 45631.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Willis Funeral Home.
