Mary Johnston, age 59, peacefully passed away on Thursday January 18, 2024, at SOMC in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Mary was born on December 15, 1964, in Gallipolis, OH, Mary Johnston was a cherished daughter, sister, and mother.
She is survived by her children, Ricky and David (D.J.) Johnston, her grandchildren, Landon Knox Jordan, Hunter Dean Johnston, Elijah Raphael Johnston, her parents, James and Irena Skaggs, her siblings, Randy Skaggs, Mike Skaggs, Linda (Doug) Hale, Connie (Ronnie) Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved Queenie, her Jack Russell Terrier. Mary is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Skaggs.
Throughout her life, Mary was known for her kind, giving heart and her love for animals and nature. She was passionate about her family and friends, and she found joy in crafting, sewing, crocheting, and knitting.
Mary Johnston was a graduate of Gallia Academy and Buckeye Hills Career Center. She found pleasure in her time as a beautician and helping others feel beautiful. Later she spent time in sales and real estate.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary Johnston's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Tuesday, from noon until the time of the service. Her burial will follow in Tyn Rhos Cemetery.
