Ray Cox, age 75, of Cheshire, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday March 2, 2023 at Holzer Medical Center. Born September 30, 1948 in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Hazel Marie Johnson Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brothers, Harold Thompson, Howard Cox, Marcus Cox, Junior Cox, Glen Cox, and Leslie Cox; and by his sisters, Betty Rutkin, Shirley Speakman, Hazel Stewart, Martha McNeal, Josephine Cox, and Mildred Queen.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Charity Amos Cox; sons, Ray Allen Cox and Randy (Cassandra) Cox; grandchildren, whom he was so proud of, Adrianna (Gavin) Frush, Mykaila Cox, and Dakota Cox; a loving sister, Nancy Stewart, and by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Ray retired from Facemire and Salmon Sawmill, in Middleport, Ohio. He attended the Common Ground Mission Church in Pomeroy. Ray was a very hard worker that loved working outside, gardening, hunting, and enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler. But most of all, he loved his family.

A private graveside service will be held at Gravel Hill Cemetery with Dennis Moore and Rod Walker officiating.

Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home is assisting the family.
