Harriet Ruth Qualls, age 82, of Gallipolis, ‘Went to be with the Lord’ on Thursday December 14, 2023 at Holzer Medical Center. Born November 7, 1941 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Harry D. Scott Sr. and Mary F. Hill Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her step mother, Barbara Scott, brother, James Scott, sister, Donna Smith and granddaughter, Dalisa Borden.
She was employed at several places, but spent most of her time as a homemaker. She also took care of her grandchildren. She was a member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, where she held offices as secretary and treasurer. She also sang in the choir. She later was a member of Paint Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed art, sewing, and watching home and garden.
Harriet is survived by her husband, William Qualls Sr. of Gallipolis; 3 children, William (Becky) Qualls Jr. of Gallipolis, Renee Jackson of Gallipolis, and Tracy (Eddie) Borden of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Jermaine Jackson, Sonya Butler, Angel Castle, Felicia Borden, Aaron Qualls and Jasmine Beach. Also surviving are several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and her siblings, Doris Green, Harry Scott, Jane Lutrell, Dinah Scott, Florence Williams and Christian Scott.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday December 22, 2023 at the Paint Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Christian Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Trendon Jackson, Gage Jackson, Gavin Jackson, Jarrell Scott and Shawn Estep. Honorary pallbearers will be William Qualls Jr., Charlie Miller, Paul Close, Chuckie Pennick and Bobby Williams.
