Martha “Marty” Belle Meadows, 81, of Portland, passed away, at 9:43 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, in the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born On April 22, 1941, in Fairview, Ohio she was the daughter of the Late Harry and Lenna Badgley Teaford. She graduated from Racine, High School In 1959.

On May 2, 1959, she married the love of her life James “Don” Meadows, in Letart Falls and he preceded her in death.

Marty began working early in the fields in Letart Falls and Portland, before she began her career as a heath care professional working at several nursing homes, Veterans Memorial Hospital, and finishing her career at Holzer Home Heath until she retired at the age of 72.

She was a member of the Bald Knob Church and was active in her community and known by many. She was always ready to lend a hand, offer a smile, or give a hug. Marty touched the lives of anyone she met and will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her four children, Teresa (Jamie) Coon, of Wellston, James (Marilou) Meadows, of Chula Vista, California, Tammy (Tony) Delong, of West Virginia, and Tanya (Chris Kimbrell) Meadows, of Dalton, Georgia. Eight grandchildren, Michael Coon, Brandon Coon, Rwondolyn Meadows, James Donald Meadows, Tara Casto, Jesse Harris, Savannah Carraway, and Kaitelyn Carraway, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond (Margaret) Teaford, sisters, Wilma (James) Anderson, Helen Teaford, and Dana Teaford.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine with Pastor Roger Wilford officiating. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
