Bula Brown Saylor, 89, of New Marshfield, OH, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at The Lindley Inn.
Bula was born November 23, 1934, in Carbondale, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Nila Brown. Bula was a graduate of Athens High School and a former employee of Ohio University. She was a member of the New Marshfield Church of Christ where she served as treasurer for many years and also taught classes. Bula was an avid golfer and organized and directed a ladies league for many years. She was involved in the Walk Around the World Program with the seniors at the Athens Recreation Center, where she enjoyed walking with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dale of 58 years.
She is survived by her son Robert Saylor of New Marshfield; daughter Rita Saylor (Lynn Scott) of Metuchen, NJ, daughter Ronda Saylor (John Patrick) of Yorktown Heights, NY; grandchildren Becki Mikola (Steve) of Independence, KY, Eden and Cooper Patrick; twin great grandsons Elden and Sonny Mikola; brother Buford (Ginny) Brown and several nieces and nephews. Bula was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M., Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Hughes Funeral Home in Athens, OH, with Greg Holbert officiating. Burial will follow in the New Marshfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of service.
