Denzil Allen Rhodes, 85, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on April 2, 2023, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV.
He was born on September 18, 1937, in Charleston
WV, son of the late Clayton Harlen and Lona Faye Duff Rhodes.
Denzil served in the US Army, having attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4). He was serving his county also during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a master electrician with AEP.
He is survived by his wife,Frankie Jean Austin Rhodes.children, Terri McVey of Ravenswood, WV, Jerry (Chris) Rhodes of North Carolina, Dennis (Stacy) Rhodes of Ravenswood, WV, Teresa Leadman of Damascus, Maryland, and Pam (Chester) Cooper of Pt. Pleasant, WV; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley (Trasawn), Emily, Jacob, Jayden, Hannah, Ryan, Amber, Jessica, Dustin, Cassie and Chris; several great grandchildren; sister, Karen Kay (Troy) King, Evans, WV, Gary David (Sandy) Rhodes, Bloomdale, OH, and Ralph (Melissa) Rhodes of Newcomerstown, OH; Denzil was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald Rhodes, Carroll Rhodes and Jackie Rhodes; sister, Janice Snyder; son-in-law, Howard McVey and great grandsons, Jaxen Allen and Jacen Dale Bonecutter.
The funeral service will be held, Monday, April 10, 2023 at 1:00pm with visitation from 11:00am-1:00pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville with full graveside military rites, provided by Jackson County Honor Guard.
