Ethel Ila DeLong, 83, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on July 25, 2023, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, WV.
She was born on June 2, 1940, in Ravenswood, daughter of the late Rollie O. and Hazel Freda Milhoan DeLong.
She loved playing her memory game, loved to swing, and loved country music.
She is survived by her sisters, Sallie Cather, and Jean Stephens (Charles); sister-in-law, Clara Delong; nieces and nephews, David DeLong, Albert DeLong, Diane Smith, Bonnie Tolley, Barbara Bennett, Teresa Ocheltree, John Stephens and Allan Stephens. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alta Bates; brother, Eldon DeLong; infant brother, Paul Delong; brothers-in-law, Glen Bates and Gary Cather; and niece, Delores Burgess.
A special thanks to the staff of Ravenswood Village and Jackson General Hospital for their care.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Reverend Michael King officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery out Skull Run Road, Ravenswood.
Friends may visit the family on Friday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
