William Vermont Arthur Jr., 74, known as "Bunny" passed away on August 19, 2024 peacefully at his home in New Haven, West Virginia. He was born on September 4, 1949 son of the late William "Bunt" and Audrey Arthur. He lived a full and happy life surrounded by family, friends and loved ones.
Bunny graduated from Wahama High School where he excelled in all four sports. His love for sports continued as he was a great fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Cincinnati Reds. He was his grandchildren's biggest number one fan!
. Bunny leaves behind his beloved wife, Phyllis and a loving family including his daughters, Lynn (Brock) Jarret of Culloden, West Virginia and Lana (Jeff) Noble of Shade, Ohio; sons, John ( Amanda Jarrell) Greer and Jim (Lisa Marcenko) Ashley both of New Haven; grandchildren, Trace, Evan, Trenton and Tiffany Jarrett, Marissa Noble, Shalyn and Casey Greer and Brad Ashley; great grandchildren, Emma and Aubrey Aucamp; brothers, David Arthur of Ashton, West Virginia and Scott Arthur of Parkersburg, West Virginia; sisters, Mary (Henry) Hoppe of Pomeroy, Ohio, Sherry Craigo of Red House, West Virginia, Joy (Dave) Stephens of Nitro, ,West Virginia and Lisa (Jim) Casto of Leon, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Roub; nephew, Danny Arthur; niece, Angie Settle; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arthur and Pauline Smith. Bunny's love and devotion for his family will always be cherished.
A memorial service will b e held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Haven with Pastor Patrice Weirick officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
