Text

Diane VanCooney Lynch (77) was born July 12, 1947 to the late Pearl and Mary Anne VanCooney. Diane went home to be with the lord on September 4th, 2024.

Diane was born, raised, and lived on the same block in Middleport for her entire life. You would often see her around town walking her beloved dog, Winston. She was a proud graduate of Middleport High School and served on the Alumni committee for most of her life. She went on to have a career serving Meigs County as the Clerk of Courts. In her years of retirement she enjoyed the ample amount of time she had to watch all of her grandkids and great grandchildren grow.

Diane was lucky enough to find love twice in her life. In 1982, she married a patient and loving man, the late Herman Lynch. In 2013 she rekindled with an old high school sweetheart, the late Bill Davis, and began her second wind of life. She found a love of Harley Davidsons and relaxing Sunday rides.

On weekends she enjoyed watching the Buckeyes and Bengals play and eating football food with her family. She always looked forward to her weekly pizza trips with her friend, Marilyn.

Diane is survived by her brothers, Jimmy (Jody) VanCooney of Florida. Robert “Bobby” VanCooney, Florida, Mike (Renea) VanCooney (North Carolina). Her loving children, Heidi and Steve Caruthers. Six grandchildren, Cassidy (Eassi) Overson-Roark, Taylor (Josh) Lynch, Trae (Courtney) Hood, Maci (Bradley) Hood, Bailey (Aaliyah) Caruthers, and Zachary Caruthers. Her pride and joys, her great grandchildren, Hadley, Landry, Harper, Declan, and Cooper Lynch, Jaeger Overson-Roark, and River Koons. Several close friends and a special friend, Denise Manuel, and her dog and companion, Winston Lynch.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two wonderful sisters-in -law Jean & Sally VanCooney, and her great grandson whom she missed dearly, Ezra Koons. What a joyous reunion that must have been.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:5

The family would like to thank the staff and Meigs EMS for their services, Richard Harrison of Middleport PD, and the entire staff of St. Mary’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Al Hartson officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held two hours prior to the service 11-1:00pm)
