David Bumgardner of Middleport, Ohio passed away on September 9, 2024 at the Overbrook Rehabilitation Center in Middleport. He was born on April 17, 1936 in Mason, WV to the late George and Lillian (McNickle) Bumgardner.
David was an active member at the Middleport Church of Christ and was active in building the Family Life Center. In 1974, he and his wife Shirley, started the Pool People business and expanded it to 4 retail stores. Pool People is still ran today by his son Bruce. He had several properties in the area and developed the Twin City properties and the Landmark property. He was a man who loved his family and worked the hardest on his family. Most importantly he was a Christian who loved his church and his church family.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bumgardner; children, Terri Haynes and Bruce (Patty) Bumgardner; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald, Jackie, Larry, and George Dean Bumgardner; sister, Linda Morris.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 13, 2014 at the Middleport Church of Christ from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Bradford Cemetery. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00pm at the church with Pastor Al Hartson officiating.
