It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marilyn Ambrus, who departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 20, 1943, in Dearborn, Michigan, Marilyn was a remarkable woman dedicated to caring for others as a devoted nurse and a cherished mother and loving wife. Throughout her life, she embodied compassion and selflessness, always putting others’ needs before hers. As a nurse, she touched countless lives throughout her career, offering comfort and care to those in need. At home, she was the heart of our family, a source of unconditional love and guidance, and her presence will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Marilyn was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, and was a graduate of Edsel Ford High School. Later in life, she moved to Newark, Ohio, where she attended Central Ohio Technical College, graduated with honors, and received a degree in Nursing.
Marilyn is preceded by her husband of 30 years, Michael Ambrus, Bruce Williams (Brother), and Parents, Fane and Elizabeth Williams.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Pam (John) White and Katherine (Michael) Aillon. Marilyn is also survived by her grandchildren Evan and John White, Elena Aillon, Jack Starcher, Eric, Nathan, Andrew, and Emily Ambrus. Marilyn is also survived by her great-grandchildren, John, Maryjane, and Jaxson White. Our family is eternally grateful to all those who have extended their prayers and support in any manner. As Marilyn and our family have been in your prayers, you will all remain in our prayers.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at The Second Presbyterian Church, 42 E Church Street, Newark, Ohio. In her honor, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Presbyterian Women, Inc., a national organization of the Presbyterian Church that supports women’s spiritual growth, leadership, and social advocacy through Bible studies, missions, and justice initiatives.
