Margaret Elizabeth (Wickline) Wothe was called home to heaven on October 20, 2024, following a September 26 diagnosis of stage 3 cholangiocarcinoma. She was born on January 18, 1937 in Rio Grande, Ohio. She trusted in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at 13 years of age on Good Friday. She graduated in 1955 from Rio Grande High School. She met Donald Bierie Wothe when he came from Wisconsin to Rio Grande College. They were married on Good Friday, April 8,1955 in West Allis, Wisconsin. Margaret graduated from Rio Grande College in 1957 with a 2-year associate degree in business which she completed in one year. God blessed Margaret and Don with three children believing her foremost mission field and calling in life was to her family and home. From 1957-63 the family lived in Bellefontaine, OH; the academic year 1963-64 Laramie, WY; 1964-65 in Jackson, OH and in 1965 the family moved to Sharonville, OH. Tri-County Baptist Church became an integral part of their lives in 1967 as they joined the membership there. Margaret enjoyed serving the Lord in many facets of ministry…Vacation Bible School, 3rd grade Sunday School teacher (43 years), youth worker, choir member, Evangelism Explosion soul-winning program, nursery, and Women’s Missionary Fellowship. She served the Lord with her gifts of encouragement and hospitality. Her first job in 1974 was as a teller at Franklin Savings & Loan; in 1975 she was hired at Safeco Insurance Company. Margaret and Don stayed active in church, traveling, decorating and spending time with family and friends during their retirement years. In December 2010 Don was diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease. After spending 43 years in their Sharonville home, they downsized and moved to Littleton, CO to be near Debbie and her family. Don was called home to heaven March 12, 2014. Margaret continued to live independently in the 500-unit apartment complex in Littleton, CO. She loved family, flowers, furnishings, and friendships. She shared her gift of love, encouragement and friendliness through mailing numerous cards, letters, and phone calls. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Dana and Nina Edna (Williams) Wickline, brother and sister-in-law Wesley Donovan and Jacqueline Ruth (Keffer) Wickline, and sister-in-law Gertrud Wothe. She is survived by three children and their spouses: Don and Pam Wothe of Rio Grande, OH; Dana and Debra Rose Wothe of Brownstown, MI; Debbie and Wes Curtis of Littleton, CO; 10 grandchildren and 6 spouses: Amanda (Bray) Shamblin, Aaron (Brittany) Wothe, Adrian (Cory) Gilbert, Alexis Wothe; Michael Wothe, David (Heather) Wothe, Elizabeth Wothe; Rebecca (Richard) Estelle, Katelyn (David) Solich, and Allison Curtis; and 13 great-grandchildren: Emma, Kennedy, Lincoln, Olive and Henry Shamblin; Savannah, Abigail and Zane Wothe; Elena Wothe; Garrett and Lydia Estelle; Elyse and Talitha Solich; brother-in-law John Wothe; and numerous extended family.
