During his tenure, he held many positions being the city meat inspector for Evans Packing Company, Bob Evans Sausage Plant, and the former Gallipolis State Institute. He also was the city zoning officer, city sanitarian, assistant operator of the wastewater plant, and supervisor of the mosquito control program. Jim was a volunteer fireman for 15 years.
Jim was married to his high school sweetheart, Patty Malone Boster; and she survives him in Gallipolis, along with one son, James Nick (Alda) Boster of Arlington, Tennessee. He is also survived by two grandsons, Jayme (Tracy) Rumley of Gallipolis, Ohio and David Boster of Arlington, Tennessee and one great granddaughter, Maxine Rumley. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Dawn Boster and a brother, Ken Boster.
The funeral service for Jim will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Hines officiating. His burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
