William “Pete” Thomas Hendricks of Pomeroy, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 29, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born in Mason, West Virginia on October 1, 1949. Pete was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a member and trustee at Rutland Freewill Baptist Church. He loved his family and had a special bond with his great-grandchildren. In the past, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, demolition derbies, car shows, and the Meigs County Fair. He loved to be outside on his mower or tractor; anything but sitting around was fine for him.

Pete is survived by his loving wife Diane Hendricks whom he was married to for 56 beautiful years. To this union were born two children: Sheila (John) McKinney of Pomeroy, OH and Travis (Amber) Hendricks of Pomeroy, OH. He will also be missed by his four grandchildren: Cain McKinney, Tanisha McKinney, Austin Hendricks (fiancée Erin Swatzel), Madison (Josh) Cooper. Pete’s great-grandchildren are sad to say goodbye: Jax Cooper, Eli McKinney, Macen McKinney, Akiah McKinney, and Camden Cooper. He is also survived by many loving friends, siblings, and distant family members.

He was the son of the late William Hendricks Sr. and Alberta Hendrix. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his in-laws Wanda and Bud Stewart. He has also lost close friends and other family members.

Friends and family may pay their respects during calling hours on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, OH from 6 to 8. The family invites you to the funeral home on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 1:00 for a service with Jamie Fortner officiating. A military grave side service will follow the funeral at Bradford’s Cemetery in Middleport, OH. The family appreciates all condolences and prayers during this difficult time.
