Janice Lynn (Jan) Roush, 70, of New Haven, West Virginia, after a hard fought battle with progressive supernuclear palsy, PSP., passed into the loving arms of Jesus on October 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born September 11, 1955, in Pomeroy, Ohio, she was the daughter of Paul and Maxine (Daugherty) Burns. A 1973 graduate of Meigs High School, Jan was a longtime employee of Sears in Pomeroy and Middleport. She also served as Social Quarters Manager of the American Legion Post 140.

In 1974, she married the love of her life, Ronnie Roush. Together they shared 51 years of marriage and raised their daughter, Amy Nicole (Nikki) Roush Fields.

Jan is survived by her husband, Ronnie; daughter, Nikki; son-in-law, Matt Fields; and Nena’s two cherished granddaughters, Mattilyn Nicole (Punkie) Fields and Olivia Marie (Livi) Fields, all of Point Pleasant, WV.

Also surviving are her siblings: Susan (Dave) Hall of Paris, TN; Beth (Tom) Schoonover of Middleport, OH; Paula Burns of Nelsonville, OH; Mike (Rachel) Burns of Cheshire, OH; Eddie (Wanda) Burns of Atkinson, NC; and Larry Burns (Gay Sherman) of New Haven, WV; brother-in-law Randy (Merri) Roush, of New Haven WV; She is also survived by special childhood friend Brenda Van Meter Shuler (John) of Gulf Shores, AL; best friend Lisa Wood of Letart, WV; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Sandra Van Matre, Carla McKinney, and Cherie Rupe; brothers Doug, Jerry, Richard, and Gary “Buck” Burns; and infant Roger Burns.

Jan’s family was her greatest joy. She was deeply devoted to her loved ones and enjoyed the blessings of her granddaughters, who brought endless light to her life.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at the Sunrise Memorial Cemetery, Letart, WV, with her brother Mike Burns presiding.
