Brenda Sue (Taylor) Hill, 70, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Her family, whom she lived for every day, mourns her passing while rejoicing that she is no longer in pain. She fearlessly battled cancer for years longer than most would have had the will to fight. Her faith in the Lord throughout her battle was an inspiration to all. She fought not for herself, but for those that loved and needed her most. She was unwaveringly selfless, relentlessly kind and completely devoted to God and family.
Brenda was born in Gallipolis, OH on May 19, 1955. She graduated from Meigs High School in 1973 and attended Rio Grande College. Brenda retired from AEP after 41 years of service, which began in 1978 at Kyger Creek Construction. She spent 23 years at Gavin Power Plant and finished her career with 17 years at Mountaineer.
Brenda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She married the love of her life, Robert “Jay” Hill, on April 14, 1978. The two resided in Syracuse, OH until her passing. They were the ultimate example of what a married couple should be.
Brenda had a passion and talent for painting and crafting and cherished the fact that her granddaughter, Olivia, shared that passion. The two spent countless afternoons in the craft room.
Brenda valued the importance of family and took every chance to bring hers together. Soup by the campfire at Halloween, relay races in the pool on the 4th of July, and a Thanksgiving spread that would make Paula Dean jealous.
She will be fondly remembered by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years Robert “Jay” Hill; son, Brice Hill; daughter, Emily (Kyle) Norris; granddaughter, Olivia Norris; sister, Debbie (Jim) Glaze; niece, Carrie (Scott) Wickline; nephews, Zachary (Kara) Glaze; Rob (Shelly) Hill, Ryan Hill, Jered (Raberta) Hill; Joseph (Lara) Hill and John Hill; cousins, Sherry (Chuck) Austin, Mark (Pam) Boyd; Brother-in-law, Pat Hill; Sister -in-Law, Nancy Hill as well as many great nieces, nephews and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Peggy Taylor; father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Hill; mother-in-law, Etta Mae Hill; brother-in-law, Phillip Hill; sister-in-law, Christine Hill and great-niece, Kaylyn Hill.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 11-1:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy
A private service will be held under the direction of Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home with Chris Stewart officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Brenda’s name to Oasis Church (39560 Rocksprings Rd, Pomeroy, OH 45769), where she faithfully attended.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to all those that supported and prayed for her during her courageous battle.
