Mildred Humphreys, 100, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026. She was born on January 30, 1926, and lived a long life devoted to her family, friends, and community.
Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and cherished memories that will continue through the generations she helped shape.
She is survived by her children, Randy (Judy) Humphreys, Sandy Humphreys, Melinda McLain, and Jack (Jayne) Humphreys.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jay (Heather) Humphreys, Tara (Pat) O’Brien, J.T. (Laura) Humphreys, Dee (Toby) Swartz, Lee (Kenny) Roberts, Sue (Ben) Ewing, Heather Tucker, and Adam (Bethany) Humphreys.
Her memory will be treasured by her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Drew, Alexis Humphreys; Tess Adams, Ty Phelps, Taylor Swartz; Grayson and Paislee Tucker; Morgan Roberts and Garrett Roberts; Victoria Walker and Lauren Ewing; and Jaxson Ewing, Sonora Humphreys, and Winter Humphreys. She was also blessed with four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition, she is survived by her special niece and nephew, Susie Lee and Eddie Helms of New Castle, Ohio.
Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman R. Humphreys Sr., and her son-in-law, Jim McLain.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Meigs Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
Mildred’s family and friends will remember her for the love she shared, the example she set, and the countless lives she touched throughout her century of life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
