Donald Plants, 70, of Bidwell, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center.
Son of the late Gilbert and Opal Neal Plants, Donald was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on February 28, 1956. Donald attended White Oak Church. He was the owner of Don Plants Plumbing, from where he retired after a lifetime of work. Don loved bluegrass music, playing guitar, singing with his family, and fishing. Above all talents and hobbies, Don loved being a Pappy and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by siblings George Plants, Hazel Camden, Eugene Plants, Charles Plants, and Lydia Laywell. He is survived by his wife, Greta Plants; children, Michelle Watkins, Heather (Michael) Johnson, Patrick (Ciara) Logan, and Brandon Logan; dear friend, Joshua Mills; grandchildren, Alexis Plants, Dakota Watson, Dylan Burns, Kylee Thompson, Katie Thompson, Tristan, Brynlee, Alivia, Riley, Kaylee, Haylee, Carly, Mila, Layla, and Jacob Logan, Mikey Johnson, Landon Blevins, and Destiny Blevins, along with many more who were adopted along the way; siblings, Gilbert Plants, Vella Day, Nancy Lemley, Violet Roberts, Carolyn (Larry) Fellure, Ruth (Gerald) Wyatt, Linda (Alna) Hall, and JoAnn (Howard) Wellington; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The funeral services for Don will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Ward officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens Chapel of Hope Mausoleum. Friends and family may be received from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dakota Watkins, Dylan Burns, Patrick Logan, Alexis Plants, Michael Johnson, and Josh Mills.
