Dr. Gordon K. Amsbary, 78, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Gordon was born on December 13, 1944 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Arthur Wayne and Gladys E. Steele Amsbary. Gordon was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School Class of 1962 and a graduate of The Ohio State University Dental School Class of 1967. He was a retired dentist, who loved the Ohio River. Gordon was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Gallipolis Rotary Club where he had over 50 years of perfect attendance and headed up the fellowship for the club.
Gordon is survived by Brenda Davis-Amsbary of Gallipolis; children, Laura Amsbary of Columbus, Randy Amsbary (Denise Munson) of Fairmont, West Virginia, and Anthony Amsbary of Worthington, Ohio; one grandson, Ivan Figueroa of Pittsburg; one brother, Dr. Harry (Myla) Amsbary of Parkersburg, West Virginia; nephew, Wayne Amsbary of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; and niece, Kristi (Jason) Olivotti of Raleigh, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Wayne and Joan Amsbary and grandparents, Fannie Blanche and William Byrd Amsbary and Alex and Ella Steele.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in Mound Hill Cemetery with Kevin Dennis officiating. Military services will be provided by the Gallia County Funeral Detail at the cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home.
