Howard R. Ervin 91 of Racine, Ohio passed away peacefully November 2, 2022 surrounded by his children. He was born on June 23, 1931 in Bashan, Ohio to Lewis Raymond and Pearl Hill Ervin. He married the love of his life Nancy Fink Ervin on September 23, 1951. Howard was a member of the Carmel Sutton Church and enjoyed attending services there.
Howard was a dairy farmer and operated a rural milk hauling service for several years. In 1960 he sought employment at Ravenswood Kaiser Aluminum Plant where he worked for over 30 years. Upon is retirement he focused on raising beef cattle, sheep, and goats. Howard was an avid canner of vegetables and fruits and always enjoyed entering his produce in the Meigs County Fair. He was a strong supporter of the Meigs County Fair 4-H Livestock Market program. Howard was a graduate of Racine High School Class of 1949 and was an active participant in the FFA (Future Farmers of America) of which he continued to support throughout his life. He also enjoyed attending the livestock market sales in Gallipolis, Athens, and Mineral Wells.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Nancy (Fink) Ervin, parents Lewis Raymond and Pearl Ervin, brothers Paul and Roy Ervin, brothers-in-laws Richard Fink, and Owen Fink, Sister-in Laws Wilma (Paul) Ervin, Anna (Owen) Fink, an infant sister, nephews Eugene Ervin and Donald Wayne Ervin.
Howard is survived by his 7 children Rhonda (Steve) Dailey, Sharon Hall, Beverly (Roger) Willford, Howard R. (Sally) Ervin Jr., Herbert (Patricia) Ervin, Teresa (Ron) Wilson, and Tammy (Jerry) McClung.

30 Great Grandchildren Shelbi Dailey, Peyton Johnson, Logan, Parker, and Audrey Willford, Brayden and Conner Ervin, Preston, Alexis (fiancée Matthias Stansbury) and Dalton Ervin, Ethan and Treyson Mullen, Keegan and Triston Halsey, Quinn, Rhemy, Canyon Ervin and one on the way, Kezney and Nash Baylor, Gage and Easton Kapp, Isaac Lewis, Paisleigh, Elsie, Adley, and Corbin Wilson, Colton, Zack, Ava and Jerika Hupp. Sister-in -Laws Doris (Roy) Ervin and Ruth (Richard) Fink, Nieces Wynona Buckley, Judy Gilmore, Angie (Don) Harden and Mona (Eugene) Ervin, nephews Danny Fink, Roy (Lynn) Ervin, Mark Ervin, and Wendell (Peggy) Ervin and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday November 6th 2-4 PM at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 11 AM Monday November 7th at Carmel-Sutton Church with burial to follow in the Gilmore Cemetery.
