Ruth Ann Roth, age 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio, died Saturday December 24, 2022, at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born August 24, 1939, in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Donald P. and Alma E. Grover Love. In addition to her parents- Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon E. Roth, daughter, Ann McMahon Sickels, stepdaughter, Vickie Roth Day, and granddaughter, Christy Roth.
Ruth Ann was a loving wife, mom, and grandma. She and Gordon loved an adventure, traveling to Switzerland, New York City, Florida, and many other places, keeping maps of every destination. She was an avid Marshall football fan and enjoyed attending games with Gordon. Ruth Ann loved music. She sang in many choirs over the years and was a supporter of the Ohio Valley Symphony. When Ann and Pam were growing up, Ruth Ann could be found volunteering her time in the many activities they participated in, and her love for helping others continued throughout her life. Many will remember her as their Mary Kay representative. Ruth Ann loved meeting and talking with people and Mary Kay gave her that opportunity during retirement. Ruth Ann was blessed with great friends from her GAHS Classmates of 1957.
She was a retired employee of OVEC, where she spent her career at the Kyger Creek Power Plant. She was a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church in Point Pleasant.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam (David) Price of South Charleston, WV, stepson, Jeffrey Roth of Tampa, FL, grandchildren, Ana (Shawn) Burns, Jennifer Roth, Leslie (Ray Carannante) Sickels, Brad (Danielle) Price, Eric (Jill) Price, Summer (Thomas) Witkop, and Brittany Roth along with 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2pm on Monday, January 2, 2023 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on January 2nd from 12:00- 2:00 PM. Pall bearers will be: Jeff Roth, Gavin Roth, Brad and Eric Price, Shawn and Ryan Burns.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Holzer Heritage Foundation, 100 Jackson Pike Gallipolis, OH 45631
The funeral service will be lived streamed on the Waugh-Halley-Wood Facebook page starting at 2:00 PM.
