Esther M. Scragg, 78, Shade, passed away Tuesday May 9, 2023, at her
residence.
She was born November 27, 1944, in Carbondale, Ohio, the daughter of
the late Clifford and Wilma O'Hara Jolley. She was a retired school teacher,
and minister. Esther was a member of Living Water Worship Center and Shade
Community Center.
Esther is survived by her husband John Scragg, children Brad (Shirley) Largent
of Colonial Beach, Virginia, and Brenda (Wade) Lawson of Canal Winchester, Ohio;
8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister Merle Katzenbach of Canal
Winchester, Ohio. Special thanks to her granddaughters Christina and Nakea
Butcher for the undying love and care during her final days.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Bridget Bobo,
a grandson Patrick Largent, 6 brothers Santford Jolley, Dave Jolley, Chad Jolley, Darrell Jolley,
James Jolley, and an unnamed infant brother.
Services will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with Pastor
Jim Stewart officiating. The burial is in Radcliff Cemetery. Visitation is 2:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday
prior to the service.
