Edith Marie Blanton, 87, went home to her Lord and Savior Friday, March 24, 2023. She was born in Mason County, West Virginia to C. Delmas and Edith Marie Weethee, along with ten siblings. Edith continued to live in West Virginia, where she had four children, Debbie, Eddie, Beverly, and Donnie. She met the love of her life, Harold Blanton; and they were married in Kentucky in November 1969. Harold and Edith moved to Texas in 1971, where she worked as an apartment manager for many years. She watched their family grow and was blessed with seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
She is survived by her siblings, James Weethee, Bill Weethee, Joyce Hern, Pauline Newell, and Roy Weethee; her children, Eddie Artrip, Beverly Bowers, and Donnie Artrip; grandchildren, Michelle Harris, Michael Artrip, Tammy Bowers, Theresa Harris, Misty Pacheco, Billy Artrip and Taren Mitchell; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Jorda Koch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister who passed at birth; brother, Charles Weethee; sister, Dorothy Weatherholt; brother, John Weethee; sister, Ruth Martin; her husband, Harold Blanton; daughter, Debbie Harris; and great grandchild, Bryce Mitchell.
The funeral service for Edith will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wyoma Cemetery in Henderson, West Virginia. Friends may call prior to the service Sunday from 12:00-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
