Freda Cottrell, 91, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Arbors at Gallipolis.
Born on January 14, 1932 in Lawrence County, Ohio, Freda was the daughter of the late Robert and Kathryn Johnson. Freda graduated from Waterloo High School and was a receptionist for Holzer Medical Center Pediatrics. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She loved gardening, cleaning, and cooking.
Freda is survived by her granddaughter, Devan (Dana) Gillispie of Vinton, Ohio; three great grandchildren, Tucker and Parker Kiskis and Vayde Gillispie; step grandson, Austin (Paige) Sheets of Gallipolis; daughter-in-law, Missy Cottrell of Gallipolis; sister-in-law, Jo (Ab) Stauffer of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Cottrell; three sisters, Betty Taylor, Geraldine Hewitt, and Neva Carter; and one brother, Robert Johnson, Jr.
The funeral service for Freda will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Private burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the funeral Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
