Mary Lou King, 75, of Gallipolis, Ohio went to be with the Lord in Heaven on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

Mary Lou was born on September 5, 1947 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Cecil and Mary White Rice. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught at Hannan Trace Elementary. Mary Lou was a member of Rio Grande Church of Christ where she was active in visiting shut-ins. Mary Lou was a member of Gallia County Retired Teachers, and she enjoyed camping. She was a 1966 graduate of Hannan Trace High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Rio Grande College and her Master's Degree from Ohio University.

She was married to Marshall King; and he preceded her in death on May 29, 2013. Mary Lou is survived by one daughter, Angela (Scott) Wiley of Pleasant City, Ohio and one son, M. Bryan King of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Brianna (Jeff) Collier, Brooklyn (Tanner) Thomas, Ethan Wiley, and Mackenzie Wiley all of Pleasant City, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Kennedy and Kace Collier and Wiley and Weston Thomas; two sisters-in-law, Sue Rice of Pomeroy, Ohio and Opal Barcus of Crown City, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Daniel Rice; brother-in-law, Charles Lee Barcus; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Dessirea King.

The funeral service for Mary Lou will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with Minister Ron Thomas officiating. Her burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
