Allen Monroe "Roe" Cox, 82, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Holzer Medical Center. Roe was born on September 5, 1940 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Floyd D. and Claris Ann Halley Cox. He was a construction worker and U.S. Navy Veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Dianna (Charles) Smith of Bidwell and Tonya (Doyle) Callihan of Chillicothe, Ohio; three sons, Allen A. Cox of Gallipolis, Darrell (Lula) Cox of Rio Grande, Ohio, and Todd (Tanya) Cox of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Charles Kevin (Brittani) Smith, Kayla (Jordan) Zerkle, Cody Smith, Courtney (Timmy) Kemper, Haley Cox (Brandon Newell), Lisa Cox (Rachel Hahn), Tiffany (Brennan) Pedraza, Danielle Callihan, J.D. (Emily) Callihan, Zack (Kelsey) Callihan, Joseph Cox, Angel Cox, Cierra (Stephen Kincaid) Cox, and Darrell Waugh, and Drystan Smith; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, Warner Cox and Charles (Marjorie) Cox both of Gallipolis; two sisters, Alice Bing and Luella Hazelbaker both of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roe was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cassandra "P.I." Cox; three brothers, Merrill Cox, Floyd Cox, and Hayward Cox; three sisters, Grace Reel, Evelyn Wright, and Elsie Pauline in infancy; and two former wives, Sandra and Jeanie.

The funeral service for Roe Cox will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Cox officiating. His burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Military rites will be given at the graveside by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.

Pallbearers will be Charles Kevin Smith, Cody Smith, J.D. Callihan, Joey Cox, Timmy Kemper, and Zack Callihan.
