Chester Clifford McGuire, 67, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024 at approximately 2:00 p.m. surrounded by his family at his home. Chester was born on May 23, 1956 in Gallia County, son of the late Bert Edward McGuire and Rozella Mae Myers McGuire. He went to school at the old Cadmus High School in Patriot, Ohio. On July 16, 1987, he was married to his loving wife, Judy Belle (Cox) McGuire.

Chester lived life to the fullest through the simple pleasures. He enjoyed being outside at all times planting gardens, drinking coffee on the porch, and walking anywhere his feet could take him. He loved making dad jokes and putting smiles on everyone’s faces. You could always find him watching western shows with the family cat, Rosie.

Chester is survived by and will be deeply missed by his children, Chester “Little Chet” Dewayne McGuire, Jr. and Cheyenne Dove McGuire. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Eugene (Helen) McGuire of Gallipolis, William (Roberta) McGuire of Gallipolis, and Tim (Dineena) Trout of South Point and his sisters, Linda Miller of Gallipolis, Janet (Rick) Wiseman of Avon Park, FL, and Marie (Vernon) Hall of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles McGuire and Bert, Jr. who passed in infancy. Many nieces and nephews will keep his memory alive, as well, with special note of Ron and Crystal Davis, Natasha Edwards, Emileigh Edwards, Kyleigh Edwards, Zayden Edwards, and Samuel Dust. Along with brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Iris Davis and Howard and Rhonda Jaques and special friends, Josh Miller, Anita Hoffman, and Bruce “Bucky” McDonald.

Friends and Family may call and visit from 12-1 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Jack Northup officiating. Burial will follow at Patriot Cemetery.
