Clyde Edward Kennedy, 88 of Pomeroy passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Darst Adult Group Home in Pomeroy. He was born on April 15, 1935 in Hocking County to the late William and Carrie (Johnson) Kennedy. He was a graduate of Pomeroy High School, class of 1953, a member of the Trinity Congregational Church in Pomeroy and a Volunteer at the Meigs County Humane Society.

Ed retired with full service from the Pomeroy Post Office while at the same time working as an electrician servicing the Meigs County Area for many years.

He was an avid sports fan his entire life. Ed played on various teams throughout school and coached numerous youth basketball and baseball teams in Meigs County for many years. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Kentucky Wildcats.

Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl (John) Thomas, Syracuse, Ohio, Chuck (Beth) Kennedy, Mason, Ohio, David (Angela) Kennedy, Sebastian, FL and Mike Kennedy, Pomeroy, Ohio; grandchildren, Morgan Kennedy, Adam (Teresa) Thomas, David Scott (Jessica) Kennedy, Stephen (Carolyn) Kennedy, Jennifer (Allen) Smith, Greg Kennedy, Jessica Kennedy, Caleb Kennedy, Haley (Brandon) Mahr, Jared Kennedy and Sydney (Can) Cekil; great grandchildren, Braydin Thomas, Cyle Kennedy, Emma Kennedy, Corinne Kennedy, Ella Kennedy and Kaitlyn Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years Carol Ann Kennedy, a daughter, Debbie Kennedy; granddaughter, Brandi Thomas; brothers Jack and Joe Kennedy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 6-8:00pm at the funeral home.
