Daniel B. “Jake” Perry, age 66, of Gahanna, Ohio died Wednesday September 13, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born August 13, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Michael Harold and Goldie Mae Sexton Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Pearl Elizabeth Hyman Perry.
Jake was a United States Marine Corp veteran. He retired from Fed Ex and from IBM. He was the Columbus Rep for Good Guys Rod and Custom Association. Jake was an avid lover of shelter animals, a collector of Polar bears and well known for his 1939 Chevy he named “Bob”.
Jake is survived by 2 brothers, Darrell (Connie) and Donald, 2 Nephews, 2 Nieces and 12 great Nieces and Nephews.
Marine Corp League Services will be at 3:00 PM. Sunday September 17, 2023 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 2nd. Ave. Gallipolis with a funeral service following with Susan Holback officiating. Burial will follow in the Centenary Cemetery, where full Military Honors will be presented by the VFW #4464 Honor Guard. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 AM. till time of service.
Pallbearers will be: Donald Perry II, Michael Perry, Matthew Daniel, Kent Kizer, David Owsley, Darren McNeil, Jerry Thompson, Michael Perry, and Benjamin Perry.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your local animal shelter in Jake’s memory.
