William “Bill” Kenton Brown, 75, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his home following a lengthy illness. Bill was born in Gallia County, Ohio June 16, 1948, the son of the late Kermit Euel and Madge (Sheline) Brown. A retired Ohio State Highway Patrol Dispatcher after 31 ½ years, he was also Gallia County 911 Dispatcher, Gallia County Sheriff’s Deputy, a Gallipolis City Police Department Auxiliary Officer and a member of Vinton Masonic Lodge #131. He married Dian L. Brownell January 21, 1974 at Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
She survives with their children: Kent (Lori) Brown, Georgia; Cindy (Lee) Lowe, Greenville, Tennessee and Sherri Lynn (Tim) Bennington, Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren: Wyatt, Hope, Madison, Summer, Sara, Jason and Brandy; brother, Kermit Brown and sisters, Mary Bays and Karen Brown, all of Gallipolis, Ohio as well as a special friend, Kevin Teaford and several extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a son, Timothy Brown and granddaughter, Stephanie Miller.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery, Gallipolis. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 11:00 AM to the service hour.
