Phyllis Jean Woodyard, 77, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at her home following a lengthy illness. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Maurice and Martha (Bishop) Anderson, born in Lynchburg, Ohio May 3, 1946.
An accountant by trade, she was a member of Twin Rivers Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness, Gallipolis. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She married Harry L. Woodyard, Sr. July 4, 1964, who precedes her in death December 11, 2013.
To this union were born Harry L. (Loretta) Woodyard, Jr., Belle Chasse, Louisiana; Shelley (Terry) James, Crown City, Ohio; Wilbur (Sarah) Woodyard and Bunnie (Mark) Schrock, both of Gallipolis and Todd Woodyard, Memphis, Tennessee. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren and siblings: Raymond (Linda) Anderson, Millie Johnson, Bunnie (Rodney) MacClean, Paula (Justin) Halley and Janice (Kim) Kinat.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by six brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023 in The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 538 Bulaville Pike, Gallipolis, Ohio. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, is honored to serve the Woodyard Family.
