John E. Anderson, 82, of Racine, passed away, at 5:04 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at his residence. Born August 28, 1940, in Proctor, West Virginia he was the son of the late Albert and Ethel Dunham Anderson. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and belonged to the Operator Engineers Local 132 in Charleston, West Virginia. He was a United States Army Veteran and attended the North Bend Church.
He is survived by his children: Barbara (Daniel) Montgomery, of Paden City, West Virginia, Mark (Sandy) Anderson, David (Lou Ann) Anderson and Donna (Steven) Lynch, all of New Martinsville, WV, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren and a special step-grandson, Jarrett Taylor. A brother, Robert Anderson, of Proctor, WV., sisters, Hazel Blair, Hilda Baxter, of Proctor, WV, and Mary McDaniels, of Phillipi, WV. And numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his wife, Luda “Sug” Anderson, brothers, Billy, Thomas, and Albert Anderson, and a sister, Susie Dorsett.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the North Bend Church on August 12, 2023. Interment will be in the Letart Falls Cemetery. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
